Who you are?

You are a person who is curious, conscientious, open-to-learning, proactive, willing-to-persevere, thorough and enthusiastic and you have good character and integrity.

Who we are as a group?

We aim to have a positive and meaningful impact on our world via the creation of innovative research and the development of people.

  • We have high standards for our work and our behaviour. These are important as we aim to do high-quality, rigorous research and because we aim to have a supportive and healthy group culture where all are welcome.

  • We respect each other and we communicate in an open and considerate manner. We also treat people outside of our group with dignity and respect.

  • Doing innovative research and undergoing growth as person are both good and worthwhile endeavours. These can be joyful processes but, at times, both can be hard and frustrating. Therefore we celebrate each other’s successes and we actively support one another through challenges.

  • The pathway to successful innovative research is, in part, built from failures. We are open and honest when experiments do not work and we use failure to deepen our understanding.

  • We recognise that as human beings we are not perfect and at times we fall short of who we wish to be. We acknowledge our own errors and we forgive one another.
